Santa Clarita Valley Accepts Applications for Deputy Explorer Program

The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station is actively seeking applications for its Deputy Explorer Program, aimed at young adults aged 14 to 20. This initiative serves as a career development and educational opportunity for participants who maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0. According to a news release from the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department, the program is designed to foster leadership, responsibility, confidence, and compassion while allowing volunteers to serve their community.

The program offers participants practical exposure to various law enforcement careers and training. The Explorer Academy will take place every Saturday for 18 weeks, starting on February 7, 2024, and concluding on June 6, 2024, at the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station.

Applications for the program are due by January 22, 2024. Interested individuals can obtain application forms at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, located at 26201 Golden Valley Road in Santa Clarita.
