Jim Carrey and Taylor Momsen Reunite After 25 Years at Ceremony

Jim Carrey and Taylor Momsen reunited on Saturday, November 4, 2025, at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, marking their first meeting since the filming of How the Grinch Stole Christmas 25 years ago. The event took place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, where both actors posed for photos on the red carpet prior to the ceremony.

Momsen, now 32, showcased her style in a black dress adorned with lace accents and a daring leg slit, complemented by a black leather coat and calf-high boots. Carrey, at 63, opted for a casual yet chic look, donning a black graphic T-shirt paired with a black-and-white striped blazer and black dress pants. During their red carpet appearance, Momsen expressed her excitement about the reunion, stating, “We haven’t seen each other since the Grinch. Twenty-five!” This was reported by KNX News.

Both stars attended the ceremony to honor the induction of Soundgarden into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Carrey delivered a heartfelt tribute to the band, acknowledging his connection to them as the host of a 1996 episode of Saturday Night Live during which Soundgarden performed as the musical guest.

Momsen took the stage as well, performing “Rusty Cage” and “Black Hole Sun” alongside prominent musicians such as Brandi Carlile, Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, and Jerry Cantrell from Alice in Chains. Notably, her band, Pretty Reckless, opened for Soundgarden’s final tour before the tragic passing of Chris Cornell in 2017.

Reflecting on her childhood experience while filming How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Momsen shared insights during a recent appearance on the November 5 episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast. She recounted her initial confusion about Carrey’s identity, noting, “Jim Carrey is the Grinch. So I didn’t know who Jim was until the premiere and someone had to point him out to me.” She added that despite many children finding the Grinch’s appearance frightening, Carrey was never intimidating to her. “He was never scary to me. To me, he was always Jim, and he was always in makeup,” she explained.

To celebrate its legacy, How the Grinch Stole Christmas will return to select theaters on Friday, December 12, 2025, for a limited engagement, as reported by Parade. The film is also currently available for streaming on both Peacock and Prime Video.
