Vanderbilt Health has highlighted two beloved pets in its latest edition of the MyVUMC News newsletter. Featured on March 3, 2026, the first pet is Momo, a blue merle Australian shepherd known for her intelligence and playful nature. Momo, submitted by Ginger DeBellis of the Vanderbilt Vaccine Center, enjoys learning new tricks, observing her neighbors, and cuddling.
The second pet showcased is Smokey, a charming Pomsky—a mix between a Pomeranian and a Siberian husky. Smokey was submitted by Haley Villacorta from the Population Health department. This delightful combination of breeds adds a unique flair to the Pets of the Day feature.
About the Pets of the Day Feature
The Vanderbilt Health Pets of the Day are a regular highlight in the MyVUMC News newsletter, which is published twice weekly by Vanderbilt Health News and Communications. These pets are selected from numerous entries submitted to the Voice Pet Photo Contest, showcasing the joy and companionship that animals bring to their owners.
For those interested in pet photography, the contest invites participants to submit their entries. The winning pets are featured in the newsletter, bringing smiles to readers across the Vanderbilt community. Additionally, a collection of pet photos is regularly updated on the Voice website, providing a platform for pet lovers to share their furry friends.
If you wish to nominate a pet for future consideration, be on the lookout for announcements regarding the next submission period for the Pet Photo Contest, which will be detailed in upcoming editions of MyVUMC News.
