CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio — The Chagrin Falls Council Meeting on December 8, 2023, recognized two outstanding local individuals for their contributions to the community. Mayor Bill Tomko presented an award to resident Quinn Perkins for successfully completing his Eagle Scout Project, which involved the construction of a footbridge at Whitesburg Park.
Perkins led a group of volunteers in building the bridge, which was completed in November. The project received support from Home Depot, which generously donated materials to facilitate the construction. This significant contribution enhances the local park and promotes accessibility for residents and visitors alike.
Chagrin Valley Rotary Club Honors Student of the Month
In addition to recognizing Perkins, the Chagrin Valley Rotary Club named Jack Keegan, a senior at Chagrin Falls High School, as the Student of the Month for December. Keegan’s leadership skills have distinguished him within the school community, where he serves as the Executive Director of the Student Council and CEO of his Business Entrepreneurial Class.
Keegan’s leadership extends beyond the classroom. He was selected as the sole student representative for Junior Achievement to present in front of the Ohio Senate Finance Committee. Furthermore, he was a featured speaker at the Junior Achievement National Conference, showcasing his ability to inspire and engage a broader audience.
Reflecting on his leadership philosophy, Keegan stated, “I value accountability, initiative, and raising the standard for everyone around me.” He emphasized his proactive approach, saying, “In every leadership role I’ve had, I’m the person who steps in early, organizes the chaos, and builds the systems that make the whole team better.”
Looking ahead, Keegan plans to pursue a major in business with a focus on sales and marketing after graduation, aiming to apply his leadership skills in the business world.
Both Perkins and Keegan exemplify the spirit of community engagement and leadership that Chagrin Falls proudly fosters. Their achievements serve as an inspiration to their peers and highlight the positive impact of youth involvement in local initiatives.
