Several students from Henrico and Glen Allen have earned prestigious academic honors for the fall 2025 semester, reflecting their commitment to excellence in education. Notably, students achieved recognition on multiple dean’s lists and honor rolls across various institutions.
University of Tampa Recognizes Academic Excellence
Nicholas Birindelli and Lily Budzinski from Henrico, along with Sophia Nguyen from Glen Allen, were named to the fall 2025 dean’s list at the University of Tampa in Florida. To qualify for this honor, students must maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.75 during the semester.
Chancellor’s Honor Roll at the University of Mississippi
Several local students also made their mark at the University of Mississippi. Elizabeth Shield, Addison Huffman, and Jennifer Stone from Henrico, along with Gavin Rutherford from Glen Allen, were named to the fall 2025 chancellor’s honor roll. This recognition requires students to be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours and achieve a GPA between 3.75 and 4.00.
Additionally, the following students from the area earned spots on the dean’s honor roll at the same university: Alexander Chernoff, Abigail Campbell, Michael Malbone, Molly Stephenson, Gabrielle Mitchell, and Copeland Thornton from Henrico; and Emma Perkins from Glen Allen. These students achieved a GPA of between 3.50 and 3.74.
Further Academic Achievements
In addition to the University of Mississippi, Rukhsara Yaqubi of Henrico was recognized on the dean’s list at the University of Arkansas for achieving a GPA between 3.75 and 3.99 while enrolled in at least 12 credit hours.
At the College of William & Mary in Virginia, a significant number of students from Glen Allen and Henrico were honored on the fall 2025 dean’s list. This included students such as Hiya Agrawa, Shraddha Anup, Keya Athale, and many others. To qualify, students must earn a GPA of at least 3.6 while enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours.
James Boyd of Henrico was also named to the fall 2025 dean’s list at Hamilton College in New York. To be eligible, students must maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher while enrolled in at least four credit hours. Boyd, a senior majoring in Economics and Environmental Studies, is a graduate of St. Christopher’s School.
Furthermore, Caleb Weakland from Glen Allen and Everett Garner from Henrico were recognized on the dean’s list at East Tennessee State University and Simmons University in Massachusetts, respectively. Both students achieved a GPA of 3.5 or higher while enrolled in at least 12 credit hours.
Graduation and President’s List Honors
In a notable achievement, several students from Henrico County graduated from the University of Maryland Global Campus. Graduates include Dexter Hurt, Ma Antonette Frazier, Jacob Coe, and others. Among them, William Forrester and Brittney McIntyre qualified for the president’s list, awarded to students with a perfect cumulative GPA of 4.0. Forrester earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, while McIntyre graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management.
These academic achievements highlight the dedication and talent of local students, showcasing their ability to excel in various rigorous academic environments.
