Warren Lady Jacks Dominate Monticello, Extend Winning Streak to 26-2

MONTICELLO, Ark. – The Warren Lady Jacks continued their remarkable season by defeating the Monticello Lady Billies 70-59 on the road, securing their second conference victory over Monticello. This win increases their overall record to an impressive 26-2 and maintains their perfect 9-0 standing in the 8-4A Conference.

This victory not only completes the regular-season sweep over Monticello but also reinforces the Lady Jacks’ dominance in the league. Under the leadership of head coach Mary Beth Grant, the team has already clinched the 2026 8-4A Conference Championship, marking one of the most successful campaigns for the Lady Jacks since the early 1990s.

Warren faced early challenges in the game as Monticello took a brief lead at 5-4 in the opening quarter. However, the Lady Jacks quickly regained control. Bayleigh Miller initiated the comeback, tying the game with free throws before scoring 10 points, including two three-pointers, to help Warren secure a 19-14 lead by the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter showcased the team’s depth, particularly through Charlee Wardlaw, who scored eight consecutive points, including two additional three-pointers, extending Warren’s lead to 24-14. The Lady Jacks’ combination of balanced scoring and defensive pressure began to take its toll on the Lady Billies, allowing Warren to maintain a comfortable lead heading into halftime.

The third quarter belonged to Warren’s star players. Alongside Miller, Livi McKinney contributed significantly, helping to increase the lead to as many as 13 points. Miller finished the game with a remarkable 27 points and remained perfect at the free-throw line, while McKinney added 17 points, consistently making crucial plays.

As the game progressed, Monticello attempted a late push, scoring eight straight points to narrow the gap and energize their home crowd. Yet, the Lady Jacks showcased their championship-caliber resilience. Key contributions from Breize Fellows and Alyssa Calbert in the final moments, along with a decisive play from Wardlaw, secured the 11-point victory for Warren.

This win stands as Warren’s second triumph over Monticello this season, further solidifying their position at the top of the 8-4A standings. With a record of 26-2, this team has etched its name in the program’s history, achieving a level of sustained excellence rarely seen since the early 1990s.

As the Lady Jacks prepare to conclude the regular season, they will host Hamburg at Lumberjack Arena on March 16. With the postseason approaching, Warren looks poised to build on their success and continue their impressive momentum.
