Influencer Carrie Fletcher Calls Out Hotel for Baby Crying Warning

British influencer Carrie Fletcher has publicly criticized the Hard Rock Hotel in Orlando, Florida, after security issued a warning regarding her crying baby. This incident occurred shortly after Fletcher and her partner, Joel, arrived at the hotel with their 22-month-old daughter, Mabel, during a family vacation to Universal Studios.

On her Instagram story posted on March 12, 2024, Fletcher explained that her daughter woke up at 03:30, feeling jetlagged and a bit unwell. Despite their efforts to soothe Mabel, a security guard knocked on their door to deliver a “first warning” about the noise. Fletcher expressed her disbelief, stating, “They sent a security guard…a SECURITY GUARD… to knock on our door and issue us with a ‘first warning.’”

Fletcher continued by highlighting the irony of the hotel environment, stating, “Note to self: Despite the teddy bears and kids’ clothes in the gift shop… Hard Rock Hotel, Orlando is not a family resort.” She conveyed her concern about what might have occurred had her daughter continued to cry, pondering, “Second/third warning—what? Removed from the hotel? With a 22-month-old?”

Fortunately, Mabel calmed down shortly after the initial disturbance, allowing the family to resume their vacation. However, Fletcher noted that the incident put a damper on their trip’s start. She lightheartedly remarked, “Not the best start to our trip but onwards and upwards right?” She further added, “Also, not very ‘hard rock’ to issue a noise complaint to a toddler.”

Since the incident, both Fletcher and Joel have refrained from providing additional comments. Nonetheless, their recent Instagram updates suggest they have moved past the initial setback and are enjoying their holiday.

The situation raises questions about the expectations for noise levels in family-friendly accommodations. Many travelers might wonder how hotels balance the need for a peaceful environment with the realities of families traveling with young children. As Fletcher’s experience illustrates, even a brief disturbance can trigger unexpected consequences in hospitality settings.

Fletcher’s candid reflections on social media resonate with many parents who have encountered similar challenges while traveling. Her story serves as a reminder that, while hotels may market themselves as family-friendly, the realities of parenting may not always align with hotel policies.
