New Hampshire Soccer Stars Selected for 2026 Lion’s Cup

The New Hampshire Soccer Coaches Association has announced the selection of local players and coaches for the upcoming Lion’s Cup, an annual soccer event scheduled for July 18, 2026, at Hanover High School. This year, six local athletes and two coaches from New Hampshire will represent the state in the competition against their counterparts from Vermont.

The Lion’s Cup features the top boys’ and girls’ soccer seniors from both states. Beyond showcasing talent, the event serves a charitable purpose, raising funds for the Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation. This organization provides vital services, including hearing aids and cataract surgeries, to individuals unable to afford such necessities.

Leading the New Hampshire boys’ team will be head coaches Drou Goff from Pembroke and Couper Gunn from Kearsarge. Both coaches received accolades as Coach of the Year in their respective divisions, with Goff recognized for Division II and Gunn for Division III. They will be joined by coaches Tyler VanDeventer from Bishop Guertin and Eric Porusta from Moultonborough.

The boys’ team roster includes key players like Ciaran Duffy, a defender from Bow, who will strengthen the back line. Brady Colgan from Coe-Brown will be instrumental in leading the offense, while Fin Murphy from Hopkinton is set to dominate the midfield.

On the girls’ side, three local seniors have been selected. Charlotte Larochelle from Bow has been named to the defense, while Bella Lapierre from Coe-Brown will be a strong striker option. Additionally, Sadie Scruton, also from Coe-Brown, will serve as a competitive goalkeeper.

The Lion’s Cup not only offers a platform for athletes to showcase their skills but also fosters community spirit and support for essential health services. As anticipation builds for this summer event, local players and coaches are eager to represent New Hampshire and contribute to a worthy cause.
