UPDATE: The City of Batavia, NY, is set to unveil its new police station at 31 Bank Street on Monday, December 8. This significant move marks the relocation of all police operations to a modern facility designed to enhance community safety and service.
Starting this coming Monday, the building’s lobby will be open to the public on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., providing residents with convenient access to police services. In conjunction with the opening, Alva Place will remain closed from Bank Street to the Batavia City Center parking lot until construction is fully completed. Residents are encouraged to use the parking lot at Batavia City Center for their convenience.
Despite the relocation, the police department’s contact number will remain unchanged. Residents can reach the non-emergency line at (585) 345-6350 for inquiries or assistance.
The police department has confirmed that a ribbon-cutting ceremony and an open house will be scheduled at a later date, allowing the public to explore the new facility and meet local law enforcement officers.
This development is not just a logistical shift; it represents Batavia’s commitment to improving community policing and enhancing public safety. Stay tuned for further updates as the opening date approaches, and watch for announcements regarding the ribbon-cutting event.
