Livermore’s Darcie Kent and Rosa Fierro Named Top Wineries

URGENT UPDATE: Two wineries from Livermore Valley have just been recognized among the best in the nation! The Zoe Report has named Darcie Kent Estate Winery and Rosa Fierro Cellars as top women-owned wineries in the United States, sparking excitement in the local community.

In an impressive showing, Darcie Kent Estate Winery clinched the second spot on the prestigious list, celebrated for its “perfect blend of art, wine, and community” in Livermore Valley. The winery, now in its sixth generation, has consistently been praised for its high-quality wines and creative approach to winemaking. “Darcie remains our vintner and artist, walking the vineyards daily and capturing their spirit through her vibrant label paintings,” the winery stated.

This recognition comes as Amanda Kent, Darcie’s daughter, steps into the role of president, while her sister Kailyn Kent serves as the label designer, ensuring that the family legacy continues to thrive.

Meanwhile, Rosa Fierro Cellars soared to the third position on the list, noted for its “friendly, down-to-earth atmosphere” and a tasting room experience described as “sassy but classy.” Founder Rosie Fierro expressed her joy, stating, “Owning my own winery has been a dream come true.” She also highlighted the strength of women in the Livermore Valley wine community, noting, “We have a higher percentage of women-owned wineries and winemakers than in other areas throughout the U.S.”

With eight of the top ten wineries hailing from California and two from Oregon, Livermore’s recognition is particularly significant. “Livermore taking both the No. 2 and No. 3 spots is a remarkable accomplishment and a testament to our community’s dedication to women winemakers and leaders who collaborate, uplift, and celebrate one another,” said Darcie Kent.

This announcement not only showcases the talents of two exceptional wineries but also underscores the growing influence of women in the wine industry. The accolades are a source of pride for the Livermore community, reflecting a spirit of collaboration that is both unique and inspiring.
