UPDATE: Graciela Paulino, a 28-year-old Lowell woman previously convicted for a fatal road-rage shooting, has been arrested again on drug and ammunition charges. This arrest occurred on Monday, October 16, 2023, at the Motel 6 in Tewksbury, following an ongoing narcotics investigation by local police.
Paulino gained notoriety in 2019 when she was sentenced to nine and a half years in prison for the 2018 fatal shooting of Marc Devoe, a 34-year-old construction worker from Peabody. The incident unfolded near the Gallagher Transit Terminal, where surveillance footage showed a confrontation leading to Devoe’s tragic death.
During the latest operation, Tewksbury detectives observed a known drug user entering Paulino’s vehicle. Upon questioning, she was found with crack cocaine. When police stopped Paulino’s vehicle, they discovered $3,145 in cash, two phones, 45 rounds of .22-caliber ammunition, 18.9 grams of marijuana, and a gram of crack cocaine. Paulino has been charged with distribution of a Class B drug, possession with intent to distribute a Class D drug, and possession of ammunition without a firearm identification card.
Following her arrest, Paulino was arraigned on Tuesday, October 17, and a bail hearing was scheduled for Wednesday, October 18, where Judge John Coffey set bail at $250 cash or $2,500 surety.
This arrest comes just months after Paulino was involved in another incident in December 2022, where she was arrested for stealing a winning $200 Keno ticket while working at a local gas station. That incident led to an extension of her probation until October 2029.
Now, as a result of the latest charges, a final probation surrender hearing is set for December 17, 2023, in Middlesex Superior Court. This hearing will determine if Paulino violated her probation and whether she will serve the remainder of her original sentence.
Paulino’s past remains a focal point in public discussions as her actions continue to raise concerns about accountability and rehabilitation. As this story develops, community members and officials alike are closely monitoring the implications of her repeated offenses.
