Urgent Fire in Rochester Hospitalizes One Person Late Night

UPDATE: A late-night fire in northwest Rochester has sent one individual to the hospital for treatment following burn injuries. The incident occurred at approximately 10 p.m. on December 31, 2023, at a residence located at 3639 Nottingham Dr. NW, according to the Rochester Fire Department.

Fire crews quickly responded to the scene, arriving to find significant smoke and flames emanating from the front of the split-level home. Initial assessments indicated that the fire was primarily contained to the front entryway, though it extended to other parts of the residence, resulting in smoke damage throughout the structure.

The Rochester Fire Department reported extensive damage, particularly to the front entryway and the living room. One occupant was transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys for evaluation and treatment of burn injuries.

Authorities confirm that both the Rochester Police Department and the Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service provided additional support on the scene.
