DART Suspends Train Service in Downtown Dallas for One Night

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) will temporarily halt train service in the Central Business District (CBD) of downtown Dallas on December 10, 2023, starting at 21:30. Regular service is scheduled to resume by 04:00 on December 11, 2023. This suspension is part of planned safety maintenance and testing that necessitates a shutdown of a segment of the transit system.

Train operations during this period will be adjusted as follows: Red Line trains will continue to run between Parker Road and SMU/Mockingbird, as well as between EBJ Union and Westmoreland stations. Blue Line services will operate between Downtown Rowlett and SMU/Mockingbird, and from EBJ Union to UNT Dallas stations. Green Line trains will run between Baylor and Buckner, and from Victory to North Carrollton/Frankford stations. The Orange Line will maintain service between Victory and DFW Airport stations.

To access Parker Road during this time, passengers are advised to transfer to a Red Line train at SMU/Mockingbird. The Silver Line trains will not be affected by this service interruption.

Shuttle Bus Services Available

DART will provide shuttle buses operating every 20 minutes for passengers whose routes are impacted. Green Line riders can transfer to shuttle buses at either Victory or Baylor Stations, with stops including Victory, West End, Pearl/Arts District, Deep Ellum, and Baylor stations.

For those using the Red, Blue, and Orange Lines, shuttle transfers will be available at EBJ Union or SMU/Mockingbird Stations. These shuttles will stop at EBJ Union, West End, Akard, St. Paul, Pearl/Arts District, CityPlace/Uptown, and SMU/Mockingbird stations.

DART recommends that passengers plan ahead if they intend to travel through the CBD on Wednesday evening. Some trips may take longer than usual, and riders may need to switch to shuttle buses to complete their journeys. DART staff, volunteers, and police officers will be present at stations to assist passengers during this time.

As DART implements these necessary maintenance procedures, the organization emphasizes the importance of safety and reliability in public transportation.
