Viking 3 Theatres in Decorah Upgrades to Luxury Seating Experience
Patrons of the Viking 3 Theatres in Decorah can now enjoy an enhanced movie-going experience following the completion of a significant seating upgrade. The local cinema, operated by Fridley Theatres, has replaced seating in all auditoriums with heated luxury recliner chairs, each equipped with individual tray tables. This renovation aims to provide guests with a more comfortable atmosphere during their visits.
The renovation project, which began earlier this year, has transformed the theatre’s offerings. According to Adam Nihart, director of theatre operations for Fridley Theatres, the upgrades were finalized recently, greatly improving the overall viewing experience. “We’re excited to bring these new amenities and added comfort to the Viking,” Nihart stated. “Now that the project is complete, we’re looking ahead to a strong lineup of films through the holiday season.”
In addition to the seating enhancements, the Viking 3 Theatres has implemented a new system of reserved seating for all admissions, effective from October 10, 2023. This change allows guests to select their preferred seats in advance, further elevating the convenience of attending a film.
The upgrades are part of Fridley Theatres’ broader initiative to modernize their cinemas. Plans for additional improvements in 2026 include enhancements to select screens and auditorium finishes. “The Viking 3 just got a makeover, and we can’t wait for our guests to experience it,” Nihart added, emphasizing the theatre’s commitment to providing an enjoyable environment for movie enthusiasts.
With these renovations, the Viking 3 Theatres is poised to attract a larger audience, particularly as the holiday season approaches. The combination of luxury seating and reserved tickets is expected to enhance customer satisfaction and drive increased attendance.
As the cinema industry continues to evolve, the upgrades at the Viking 3 Theatres exemplify the importance of adapting to consumer preferences for comfort and convenience in entertainment venues.
