Kim Kardashian Defends North West’s Temporary Tattoos and Piercings
Kim Kardashian has publicly defended her daughter, North West, following criticism over the preteen’s use of fake piercings and face tattoos. On October 25, Kardashian responded to the backlash through the joint TikTok account she shares with North, stating, “This is such a non-issue.” The video featuring North’s new look has garnered nearly 5 million views and 180,000 likes, showcasing a star tattoo under her eye, cursive writing of her name on her cheek, and a faux septum piercing.
The 12-year-old, who also sported braided blue highlights and henna symbols on her hand, clarified in a follow-up post that her accessories were temporary. “Fake piercings and fake tatts 4 life,” North wrote, attempting to downplay the controversy. Despite her reassurances, some commenters expressed disapproval, with one stating, “She’s TWELVE??” Others defended North, highlighting that many children experiment with similar styles.
Kardashian has encouraged North’s exploration of fashion and creativity. During her appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast on October 15, she noted, “I’m like, ‘Babe, if you want blue hair, it is what it is.’” Kim emphasized North’s confidence in her fashion choices, explaining that her daughter often dismisses negative opinions about her style.
Family Background and Support
North is the eldest child of Kim Kardashian and her ex-husband, Kanye West. The couple also shares three other children: Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6. Kardashian has a history of allowing North to express herself through fashion. In 2019, she shared a photo of North wearing a fake nose ring during a family celebration, demonstrating their ongoing engagement with creative expression.
In recent weeks, Kardashian has been managing her health while juggling her busy career. On the “Graham Norton Show” aired on October 24, she revealed her recent diagnosis of “a little aneurysm,” which she indicated may be linked to stress. Despite the challenges, Kardashian remains focused on her legal studies, confirming that she will soon qualify as a lawyer.
“I will be qualified in two weeks. I hope to practice law,” Kardashian stated, expressing her ambition to transition to a legal career in the future. She has been a vocal advocate for prison reform, continuing her efforts to make a difference in the legal field.
As episodes of “The Kardashians” continue to air on Hulu each Thursday, viewers can expect to see more of the family’s dynamic, including their approach to parenting and personal challenges.
