Comedian Theo Von recently opened up about his participation in Bible studies with country music star Morgan Wallen, describing him as an “inspiring guy.” During a conversation with fellow comedian Leanne Morgan, Von revealed his plans to meet Wallen the following day for their regular Bible study session.
“I’m gonna see him tomorrow, Bible study, actually,” Von stated. Morgan responded enthusiastically, suggesting that Wallen might take on a more prominent role in their faith discussions, saying, “I think he’s gonna end up preaching.” To this, Von expressed admiration for Wallen’s authenticity, stating, “I have no idea, I just know he’s an inspiring guy.”
Morgan, who has been vocal about her Christian faith, shared her own experiences with Bible studies, noting that while she is not currently attending one, she used to participate while raising her children. “I’m not in one right now. I used to be in one when I was growing and raising my children,” she said. Von humorously added, “Well, that’s when you need the Lord the most, when you’re raising those little hench women — and men.”
The comedian has previously expressed a deep longing for a connection to faith, particularly in the context of the entertainment industry. In a 2019 interview, Von remarked on the cultural attitudes in Los Angeles regarding religion, saying, “Out here in Los Angeles, in some of this industry and stuff that I’m in, it’s not a rejection against Christ, but there’s definitely — religion isn’t super welcomed.” He emphasized the importance of faith as a source of healing, stating, “I feel alone, I feel hitchhiking if I don’t have some kind of a faith.”
Von further reflected on his childhood, where he viewed faith as a guiding principle. “Now, Jesus Christ, that was the most popular guy in my area growing up. I think the dude is a great role model,” he said, underscoring his belief in the value of faith in everyday life.
This exchange between Von and Morgan highlights not just their personal journeys with faith, but also the broader conversation about spirituality in contemporary society, particularly within the entertainment industry. As celebrities like Wallen and Von navigate their public personas, their openness about faith offers a glimpse into how personal beliefs can intersect with professional life.
