Zelenskyy emphasized the necessity of global support to halt Russian aggression, stating, “If the whole world – Europe and America – is on our side, together we will stop Putin.”
In a series of posts on the platform X, Zelenskyy expressed his concerns about the ongoing war and the implications of international support. He warned that any backing for Russia from the United States or Europe would prolong the conflict, stating, “There are no other options here.” He described Russia’s refusal to cease hostilities, regardless of agreements or diplomatic overtures, as a pressing risk for nations worldwide.
The urgency of Zelenskyy’s remarks was underscored by a recent wave of attacks on Kyiv, where Russian forces launched a significant assault involving hundreds of drones and missiles. According to local authorities, this attack resulted in at least one death and 27 injuries. Zelenskyy reported on X that nearly 500 drones, including a large number of Shahed drones, and 40 missiles, including Kinzhals, targeted energy facilities and civilian infrastructure.
Zelenskyy described the attack as revealing the “true attitude” of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his administration. He criticized Russia’s engagement in peace talks, highlighting the disconnect between diplomatic discussions and military actions. “Russian representatives engage in lengthy talks, but in reality, Kinzhals and Shaheds speak for them,” he stated.
As the conflict continues, Zelenskyy reiterated Ukraine’s commitment to peace. He outlined a 20-point peace proposal that he intends to present to Trump during their meeting. This proposal is framed as a comprehensive approach to ending the war, with Zelenskyy asserting that Ukraine did not initiate the conflict.
