Frey Outlines Vision for Greenville Hospital at Lions Club Meeting

Michael Frey, founder of Frey Medical Management, recently addressed the Greenville Lions Club on February 9, 2024, where he shared his vision for the Regional Medical Center in Greenville, which his company is in the process of acquiring. Frey, who recently completed a similar acquisition of a hospital in Luverne, expressed optimism regarding the future of the Greenville facility, particularly in light of recent leadership changes.

During his presentation, Frey acknowledged the current transition at the hospital’s management level. He emphasized that the immediate priority is to establish stability within the organization. “Right now, it’s very turbulent, for lack of a better word, and we need to calm the waters a little bit,” said Frey. He further elaborated that fostering stability is essential for the hospital’s success in this critical period.

Frey and his team have dedicated their initial weeks to closely assessing hospital operations and staff morale. He highlighted the importance of transparency and open communication with both employees and the local community. “It’s our responsibility to make sure that you and your families and your employees… have quality health care,” Frey stated. He noted that while challenges have been identified, proactive measures are already being implemented to address them.

In a departure from common practices in the healthcare sector, Frey assured attendees that instead of eliminating positions, the hospital plans to create new roles. “For this to work, you’ve got to have the appropriate personnel in place,” he remarked, indicating a commitment to workforce expansion.

Frey outlined a comprehensive plan aimed at revitalizing the hospital’s environment and broadening its service offerings. His vision includes significant improvements such as enhanced cleanliness, facility upgrades, and a more inviting, community-centered atmosphere. These changes are designed to make healthcare more accessible to local residents.

The expansion of specialty services is also a significant focus for Frey. Plans include the addition of services such as dialysis, infusion care, diabetes management, and behavioral health. These initiatives aim to reduce the need for patients to travel long distances for essential treatments, thereby improving overall patient care.

Looking ahead, Frey characterized the tasks as both a challenge and an opportunity. “There’s a lot of repair that needs to be done at this hospital, but at the same time, it’s an awesome opportunity… to be a part of the growth of the hospital from day one,” he said. His comments reflect a deep commitment not only to the facility but also to the well-being of the community it serves.

As Frey Medical Management prepares to take the helm, stakeholders in Greenville are optimistic about the potential transformation of the Regional Medical Center under Frey’s leadership.
