Born on November 27, 1939, in Coleman, Melba was the daughter of Jasper and Edna Bronson. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Oxford.
Known affectionately as “Memaw,” Melba was beloved by her family and friends for her nurturing spirit and her ability to connect with everyone around her. She dedicated her life to caring for her family, which included her granddaughters Jennifer Mower, Shannon Hunt, Stacey King, Ashley Fort, Kayla Brindac, and Haley Sapp, along with 13 great-grandchildren who adored her.

Melba’s love for the outdoors was evident in her hobbies, which included crocheting, gardening, and birdwatching. She often spent her afternoons enjoying nature while sitting in her rocking chair.
