Thomas Gerald Lewis, a beloved figure in the Mansfield community, passed away on February 5, 2026. Born on September 17, 1950, to Emma Jean Smith Lewis and Edward Onree Lewis, he is remembered for his dedication as a husband, father, and friend. Lewis was a skilled mechanic known for his friendly disposition, and he had a remarkable ability to connect with those around him.
Throughout his life, Lewis embraced the outdoors, transitioning from his youthful passion for coon hunting to enjoying peaceful fishing outings with his wife, Faye, and his close friend, Roy. His love for nature reflected his warm personality and the joy he found in simple pleasures.
A Devoted Family Man and Community Member
Lewis was an active member of the Callie Fuller Church in Monticello, where he cherished his church family. His faith played a significant role in his life, and he was known for his generosity and kindness to others. He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Paige, his sister Brenda, and his nephew Brent.
He leaves behind his wife, Faye; his brother, Gary; his sister-in-law, Gail; and his two sons, Mark and Brad, along with several nieces and cousins who will miss him dearly. His family describes him as a loving and committed individual whose legacy will endure in the hearts of those who knew him.
Celebration of Life Scheduled
A Celebration of Life will take place on February 13, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Callie Fuller Church, officiated by Pastor Charles Roper. Prior to the service, there will be a visitation at the church starting at 1:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Lewis’s memory to a charity of choice or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, reflecting his caring nature and commitment to helping others.
As the community mourns the loss of Thomas Gerald Lewis, they also celebrate the rich life he lived and the positive impact he made on those around him. His spirit and kindness will be remembered fondly by friends and family alike.
