Gail Reed Breece, a dedicated speech therapist and educator, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, in Sacramento, California. Born on January 27, 1951, in the same city, she devoted her life to empowering children to find their voices through her work in speech therapy. Surrounded by her family at the time of her death, her legacy continues to impact many lives.

Throughout her career, Gail was known for her warmth and encouragement, traits that endeared her to both colleagues and students alike. She married Steven Breece in 1977, and together they raised five daughters: Andrea, Victoria (who is married to Dmitry), Elizabeth (married to Joe), Samantha, and the late Katherine Breece. Gail also cherished her role as a grandmother to eight grandchildren, providing them with a nurturing environment filled with love and support.

Gail’s interests extended beyond her professional life. She enjoyed swimming, nature walks, and indulging in Tootsie rolls and hot chocolate. Her love for romantic comedies often brought joy to both her family and friends, reflecting her vibrant personality.

In addition to her immediate family, Gail is survived by numerous loved ones who will remember her fondly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steven, her parents Rosemary and Calvin, and siblings Bob, Bill, and Susan.

A Celebration of Life event is set to take place on February 21 from 13:00 to 15:00 at Elks Lodge #6 in Sacramento, California. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to local public schools in her honor, reflecting Gail’s lifelong commitment to education and the empowerment of youth.
