Remembering Sidney Webb: A Life of Service and Family

Sidney Earl Webb, a veteran and respected community member, passed away on January 29, 2026, at the age of 74. He died peacefully at his home in Chesapeake, surrounded by his family. Born on July 11, 1951, in Chillicothe, he was the son of the late Elbert and Alma Crouch Webb.

Throughout his life, Sidney was known for his dedication to family and community. He served in the United States Air Force, demonstrating his commitment to his country. Sidney owned and operated Sids Li’l Construction Company, contributing to local development and construction projects. For many years, he was the Sunday School superintendent at Getaway Community Church, where he was a beloved figure.

Family and Legacy

Sidney is survived by his loving wife, Sadie Webb, along with two step-children, Angela Pruitt and Jamie Pruitt. He also leaves behind a supportive family that includes his sister, Virginia Pendelton of Kitts Hill, and brother, Billy Webb of South Point. Additionally, he is remembered by his sisters-in-law, Brenda Webb of South Point and Linda Webb of Chesapeake, as well as five step-grandchildren: Cody Pruitt, Destiny Walters, Katie Pruitt, Levi Pruitt, and Staley Gue. He also cherished two step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, along with his loyal companion, Roxie.

In addition to his many accomplishments, Sidney faced personal losses. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Brenda Webb, along with two brothers, Richard Webb and Aubrey Ray Webb, and a sister, Patricia Webb. These challenges did not overshadow his spirit or his dedication to those he loved.

Funeral Arrangements

Funeral services for Sidney Webb will take place on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Wallace Family Funeral Home in South Point, with Pastor Harold Hamlin officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Getaway Cemetery in Chesapeake. Family and friends are invited to visit the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service, providing an opportunity for shared memories and support.
