The Short Gap Volunteer Fire Department is set to host its third annual wing dinner on January 17, 2024, inviting community members to enjoy a festive evening while supporting a local tradition. The event aims to raise funds for the fire department, building on previous successes that brought in 155 attendees during its inaugural year and over 400 last year.
This year, the event will feature approximately 8,000 wings prepared by Corey Feaster, a third-generation member of the fire department and a member of its board of trustees. Guests can look forward to eight different flavors of wings, complemented by a variety of dips and drinks. Adult tickets are available for $20, which grants access to an all-you-can-eat experience, with desserts offered at an additional cost.
Community Engagement and Family Fun
The wing dinner is designed to be a family-friendly event, with no alcohol served on the premises. Attendees can enjoy their meals while participating in raffles and possibly watching a sporting event in the fire hall’s dining area. Carry-out options will also be available for those who prefer to take their meals home.
Tickets for the dinner will be sold exclusively at the door, with both cash and card payments accepted. This fundraising effort not only aims to provide a hearty meal for attendees but also strengthens the community ties within the Frankfort District of West Virginia.
As the date approaches, the Short Gap Volunteer Fire Department encourages local residents to partake in this growing annual tradition, contributing to a worthy cause while enjoying a delicious meal with family and friends.
