URGENT UPDATE: Bethune-Cookman University (B-CU) has just announced the formal inauguration of Albert Mosley as its eighth president, scheduled for April 14, 2024. While Mosley has been in the role since July 2023, the ceremonial investiture marks a significant tradition for the university, emphasizing its rich history and commitment to leadership.
The investiture ceremony will take place at the Mary McLeod Bethune Performing Arts Center at 10 a.m., with doors opening at 9 a.m.. This public event promises to celebrate not only Mosley’s appointment but also the legacy of Mary McLeod Bethune, the university’s founder, who instilled a belief in the transformative potential of education.

On April 13, Mosley will lead a day of service, mobilizing hundreds of B-CU volunteers to assist approximately 50 nonprofits in the Daytona Beach and Volusia County areas. This initiative underscores Mosley’s dedication to community engagement and service.
That evening, the Presidential Inaugural Scholarship Gala will take place at the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort. This prestigious event will feature a keynote address from Michael Lomax, President and CEO of the United Negro College Fund (UNCF), alongside a special performance by Grammy Award-winning artist Yolanda Adams. The gala aims to raise $1 million for scholarships, directly benefitting students facing financial barriers.
