BREAKING: Authorities have confirmed the tragic discovery of the body of missing hiker Eryn VanAcker, aged 40, who vanished last week in Placer County. Her body was recovered from the North Fork of the American River on Monday, October 23, 2023, following a thorough search operation.
The search for VanAcker began shortly before 6 p.m. on Friday, October 20, when she was reported missing after last being seen around 2:30 p.m. walking her dog on Codfish Falls Trail outside of Colfax. Shortly thereafter, her dog was found alone, raising immediate concerns for her safety.
