Charlie Puth Joins Global Citizen Festival in Brazil Next Weekend
BREAKING: Charlie Puth has been confirmed to join a star-studded lineup for the Global Citizen Festival: Amazônia, scheduled for November 1, 2024 in Belém, Brazil. This urgent event aims to raise $1 billion to protect the Amazon rainforest and amplify the voices of indigenous peoples.
Puth will perform alongside international sensations including Anitta, Chris Martin of Coldplay, Gilberto Gil, and Seu Jorge, among others. This festival will take place at the Estádio Olímpico, also known as Mangueirão, marking a significant moment for environmental advocacy.
The festival kicks off at 6 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live across Brazil on Globo. As part of the event’s commitment to sustainability, it will be a zero carbon footprint festival, aligning with Global Citizen’s ongoing campaign to safeguard the Amazon.
“I’m honored to be part of such an important cause for our planet and can’t wait to see you on November 1st,” said Puth in an official statement.
Festival organizers have also announced that Brazilian artist Vivi Batidão will perform during the pre-show, with notable presenters including Regina Casé and Hugo Gloss. The event is set to be a cultural celebration aimed at uniting global citizens for a critical cause.
This festival is not just a music event; it serves as a rallying point for environmental issues affecting the Amazon region. With ongoing deforestation and climate change threats, the initiative seeks to raise awareness and funds necessary for restoration efforts.
As the festival approaches, audiences can expect updates and further announcements regarding additional performers and activities. The urgency of this cause cannot be overstated, as the Amazon rainforest plays a pivotal role in global ecology and climate health.
Mark your calendars for November 1 and prepare to tune in for a powerful night of music and activism that promises to make a significant impact on the future of one of the world’s most vital natural resources.
