URGENT UPDATE: A routine traffic stop in Chino Hills has escalated dramatically, leading to the arrest of three residents on serious narcotics charges. This incident unfolded on October 16, 2023, when deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department pulled over a vehicle for traffic violations at the intersection of Rolling Ridge Lane and Glen Ridge.

Inside the vehicle, authorities discovered that occupants Michael Aguilar and Tanya Camacho were in possession of methamphetamine. The situation intensified as deputies conducted further investigations, which led them to a nearby residence on Laguna Court, where they encountered Camacho’s children under the care of their grandmother, Mary Rodriguez. Rodriguez, who has outstanding warrants for narcotics charges, was also taken into custody.

While arresting Aguilar, deputies found additional methamphetamine and items indicative of drug sales. A subsequent search warrant executed at Rodriguez’s residence uncovered more methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Rodriguez now faces charges under Health & Safety Code 11395(b)(1), which includes potential enhanced sentencing due to her previous convictions.

Aguilar and Camacho were booked into the West Valley Detention Center following the incident. Aguilar faces charges under HS11378, while Camacho is charged under HS11377. The emotional toll of this incident is underscored by the fact that Camacho’s children were left in a vulnerable situation, highlighting the grim reality of substance misuse impacting families.

The Chino Hills Police Department is actively seeking public assistance in this case. Residents are urged to come forward with any relevant information. Anonymity is assured through the We-Tip Hotline and associated website.

As details continue to emerge, this developing story raises critical questions about community safety and the ongoing fight against drug-related offenses in the region. Stay tuned for updates as authorities continue their investigation.
