De La Salle Dominates Amador Valley with 56-13 Victory
UPDATE: De La Salle High School steamrolled Amador Valley with a commanding 56-13 victory on Friday night, solidifying their position as the top-ranked team in the Bay Area. This dominant win marks their seventh consecutive victory of the season, as they eye a coveted state championship.
The Spartans wasted no time in establishing their dominance. Just seconds into the game, Jayden Nicholas electrified the crowd with an 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Brayden Knight quickly followed suit, throwing a 30-yard touchdown pass to Dylan Scott, followed by a 15-yard scoring pass to Landon Cook. By the end of the first quarter, De La Salle was ahead 35-0.
As the first quarter unfolded, Knight connected with Emery Speight for another touchdown, pushing the score to 27-0. The Spartans’ relentless offense continued with Greg Jones scoring on an 18-yard run, and Jamal Johnson-Lucas converting a two-point attempt to make it 35-0 before the quarter ended. Knight capped off the quarter with a 10-yard rushing touchdown, bringing the score to 42-0.
Amador Valley, struggling this season with a record of 2-6, finally got on the board with a 68-yard touchdown run by Vincent Maiorana, narrowing the gap to 42-6. However, De La Salle’s momentum proved insurmountable as they continued to dominate throughout the game.
Looking ahead, De La Salle will visit San Ramon Valley next Friday, before concluding their regular season at home against California on October 30 and Clayton Valley Charter on November 7. Meanwhile, Amador Valley will take a week off before facing Monte Vista on October 31 and finishing the season at California on November 7.
This emphatic victory not only boosts De La Salle’s confidence as they approach the playoffs but also emphasizes their quest for the state’s Open Division championship, a title they haven’t claimed in a decade. Fans and analysts alike are urged to keep an eye on this powerhouse as they continue their journey toward glory.
