Denver’s Christkindl Market Celebrates 25 Years in New Tivoli Location

URGENT UPDATE: Denver’s beloved Christkindl Market has officially relocated to the Tivoli Quad on the Auraria campus, celebrating its 25th anniversary with a grand opening that promises to attract even larger crowds. The festival, which runs through December 23, 2025, is expected to draw more than the 350,000 visitors who attended last year, according to organizers.

The move to the Tivoli Quad provides ample space for over 40 vendors, offering an expanded array of festive delights. “Everybody’s always hungry for a pretzel,” says vendor Leon Speth, highlighting the market’s bustling atmosphere. Another vendor, Josh Bryant, adds to the holiday cheer by serving traditional European foods, including Schmalzkuchen, a popular German donut synonymous with Christmas markets.

This year’s market is not just about food; it features a variety of unique goods. Vendor Blair Hamill showcases posters celebrating national parks and ski resorts, allowing visitors to take home a piece of their cherished memories. “I’m selling posters of various places. It’s all about creating emotional connections,” Hamill explains.

Vendors are thrilled with the new location. “We’re seeing that people are really excited to be in this new space,” says Samantha Seems, Executive Director of the German American Chamber of Commerce – Colorado chapter. “It allows us to spread out and enhance the experience for everyone.”

The sense of community among vendors is palpable, with many forming close bonds over the years. “We’re like a family around here,” says Bryant, reflecting on his decade-long journey at the market. The festive spirit is infectious, as returning and new visitors alike soak in the holiday atmosphere.

With its new location and an increase in vendor offerings, the Christkindl Market is set to be the highlight of the holiday season in Denver. “A lot of people come and have a good time,” says Hamill, summing up the market’s appeal.

As the days leading up to Christmas approach, the excitement around this year’s market continues to grow. Be sure to visit the Tivoli Quad to experience the magic for yourself before it wraps up on December 23. Don’t miss out on this beloved Denver tradition!
