Firefighter Injured in Pigeon Forge Antique Shop Blaze
URGENT UPDATE: A firefighter was injured responding to a blaze at Country Mill Crafts and Antiques in Pigeon Forge yesterday evening. The fire erupted around 6:13 p.m., prompting an immediate response from local fire crews.
According to reports from WVLT, firefighters arrived to find visible smoke and flames billowing from the structure. Public information officer Craig Cruise confirmed that the fire was deemed “controllable,” allowing firefighters to work quickly to suppress the flames. During the operation, a firefighter sustained a minor hand injury after a ladder shifted unexpectedly. He was promptly transported to LeConte Medical Center for evaluation.
The incident occurred while the antique shop was closed, ensuring no civilians were at risk. Fortunately, the Pigeon Forge Fire Department managed to limit the damage to a moderate level, sparing much of the building’s contents. Community members and fire department officials are relieved to hear that the injured firefighter is expected to make a full recovery.
As of now, the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Official sources have not released further details about what may have started the blaze. A social media update from the City of Pigeon Forge confirmed that no additional injuries were reported during this incident, providing some comfort to the local community.
