George Strait Announces Surprise Austin Shows for April 2025

George Strait, the iconic country music artist, has announced a surprise two-night engagement at Austin’s Moody Center on April 9 and 11, 2025. This marks a highly anticipated return to Central Texas for Strait, who was the venue’s inaugural headliner when it opened in April 2022, performing alongside legends like Willie Nelson & Family and the Randy Rogers Band.

This upcoming series of shows is particularly significant as it represents Strait’s first public performance since his record-setting concert in College Station in 2024, which claimed the title of the largest ticketed concert in U.S. history. Since then, Strait has only made a brief appearance at a charity event in Boerne, Texas, following the devastating events of July 2025.

The April performances will feature rising country star William Beckmann, a fellow South Texan known for his unique blend of neotraditional country, red dirt, and influences from his Del Rio upbringing. Beckmann debuted his first major label album, Whiskey Lies & Alibis, in June 2025, showcasing his rich baritone and diverse musical style.

Fans can expect a mix of new tracks from Strait’s latest album, Cowboys and Dreamers, alongside timeless classics such as “Amarillo by Morning” and “You Look So Good in Love.”

Presale tickets for the Moody Center shows are available starting Monday, January 26, 2025, using the code TAKEMETOTEXAS. General ticket sales will open on Friday, January 30, at 10:00 AM via Ticketmaster.

In addition to the Austin shows, Strait will perform two nights at Lubbock’s Jones AT&T Stadium on April 24 and 25, 2025, with support from fellow country artists Miranda Lambert and Zach Top. This exciting lineup is sure to attract fans from across the region, eager to see the King of Country in action once more.

Strait’s return to the stage is a highly anticipated event for country music fans, reinforcing his status as one of the best-selling artists of all time, with a legacy that continues to influence new generations of musicians and audiences alike.
