Hickory Police Launch Urgent Cops for Tots Toy Drive for 2025
BREAKING: The Hickory Police Department has just announced the launch of its annual Cops for Tots event, aiming to bring holiday joy to children in need. Applications are now open for families wishing to participate in the 2025 Cops for Tots Wish House, an initiative that has dramatically expanded since serving just twelve families in the 1980s.
Families residing in Catawba, Burke, Alexander, or Caldwell County can apply online or in person to receive toys this holiday season. The application is also available in Spanish, ensuring accessibility for all. Eligible applicants must present a current government-issued photo ID, along with a Medicaid card or a birth certificate for each child. Note that families already receiving assistance from the Christmas Bureau in 2025 are not eligible. Children aged from birth to 13 years old can be included in applications.
The Cops for Tots Wish House will be operational from December 10 to December 12, 2025, at the Hickory Police Training Annex. Sessions are set for 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. each day, providing ample opportunity for families to receive support.
Citizens eager to contribute can drop off new, unwrapped toys at the collection box located at the Hickory Police Department. Monetary donations can also be sent by mail, with a guarantee that 100% of proceeds will go directly to the Christmas Wish House and related children’s programs.
This initiative not only aids local families but also strengthens community bonds, highlighting the police department’s commitment to fostering positive relationships with residents. The HPD is calling on everyone to help brighten the holidays for children across the counties served.
For more information, community members can call the designated extension for the Cops for Tots program or email the department. Contact details are available on the official city website, which also provides comprehensive information on application procedures and eligibility.
With the holiday season approaching, now is the time to get involved—join the Hickory Police Department in making a difference for children in need this December. Don’t wait; spread the word and help share the joy!
