Lynn Community Health Center Recognized Among Top 100 Women-Led Firms

UPDATE: Lynn Community Health Center (LCHC) has just been named one of the Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts, a prestigious honor awarded by The Women’s Edge in collaboration with The Boston Globe. This recognition marks LCHC’s inaugural entry into the list and coincides with the program’s 25th anniversary, highlighting the critical impact of women-led leadership in the state’s economy.

Under the visionary leadership of CEO Brenda Rodriguez, LCHC has rapidly established itself as a trailblazer in community health, focusing on innovation and equity. Rodriguez, who has over a decade of experience in community health, previously served as Chief Strategy and Financial Officer at Lowell Community Health Center, where she successfully implemented growth strategies and fostered equitable care practices.

Rodriguez’s personal connection to community health care enriches her leadership. As a patient at a federally qualified health center, she possesses firsthand insight into the challenges faced by patients, which drives her commitment to improving access to essential services. Since her appointment, LCHC has broadened its offerings and deepened partnerships within the community.

“Receiving this recognition alongside so many trailblazing women is truly meaningful,” said Rodriguez. “This belongs to every woman who leads, innovates, and uplifts our mission across the community health center movement. It is an honor to see our work celebrated among organizations and businesses that are redefining the leadership landscape in Massachusetts.”

The significance of this honor is underscored by the scale of LCHC’s operations. The health center serves over 46,000 patients annually, providing a comprehensive range of services—spanning primary care, behavioral health, dental, and substance use services—regardless of patients’ ability to pay. LCHC’s workforce is predominantly female and diverse, exemplifying inclusive leadership and community-centered excellence.

“This recognition reflects not just Brenda’s leadership but the extraordinary dedication of our entire team,” said Drew Russo, Chair of the LCHC Board. “Her lived experience and unwavering commitment to community-centered care give us great confidence in the path ahead.”

Ranked at #38 in its first year on the list, LCHC joins a distinguished cohort of organizations that are shaping Massachusetts’ future through purpose, innovation, and inclusive leadership. This accolade not only celebrates LCHC’s achievements but also serves as an inspiration to other women-led organizations striving to make an impact in their communities.

As the health center continues its mission, the community can expect to see further enhancements in service delivery and partnerships that will expand access to vital health resources.
