Major Companies Fund $250 Million Trump White House Ballroom
URGENT UPDATE: A coalition of major corporations and billionaires is stepping up to fund President Donald Trump’s controversial new ballroom at the White House. The administration announced this significant development on Thursday, revealing that tech giants like Apple, Amazon, Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Comcast are among the key financial backers.
The ballroom project is set to cost over $250 million, raising eyebrows and concerns among critics. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton voiced her disapproval on the social media platform X, stating, “It’s not his house. It’s your house. And he’s destroying it.”
The funding also includes support from tobacco companies such as Reynolds American and Altria Group. Notable billionaires contributing to the project include Edward Glazer, owner of Manchester United, and Stephen Schwarzman, CEO of Blackstone.
The White House press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, emphasized that “this is going to be a magnificent addition to the White House for many years to come, and it’s not costing the taxpayers anything.” The construction is being managed by ACECO, a Maryland-based company.
With heavy machinery already dismantling parts of the East Wing of the White House, the urgency of this project is palpable. The ballroom is planned to span an impressive 90,000 square feet, making it one of the largest additions to the White House in decades.
Critics are rallying against the project, highlighting concerns over transparency and public disclosure. Three House Democrats have formally requested details from President Trump regarding the funding and decisions made about the ballroom’s construction.
As the situation unfolds, the implications of this lavish project are significant, not only for the political landscape but also for the public sentiment surrounding the Trump administration. The White House ballroom is expected to become a focal point of controversy as it progresses.
Stay tuned for updates on this developing story as more details emerge about the funding and the ongoing construction efforts.
