BREAKING: Michael Strassner, known for his role in “The Baltimorons,” is now set to star in the highly anticipated independent comedy “Tuesday, New York.” The Baltimore-born actor just wrapped up shooting, although a release date has not yet been announced.
The film follows three friends on a half-serious, half-existential journey across New York City as they search for a sewing needle to repair a pair of ripped jeans. Strassner shared exciting insights about the film, stating, “Across one meandering Tuesday, the men reopen old wounds, fall into unexpected romantic entanglements, and confront whether it’s ever too late to stitch one’s life back together.”
This project marks Strassner’s first announcement since signing with Paradigm Talent Agency, a significant move in his career. “Tuesday, New York” is directed by Alex Beh and will also feature actor and director Peter Vack and David Krumholtz, who portrayed Isidor Rabi in the blockbuster “Oppenheimer.”
Just last month, “The Baltimorons” debuted widely to critical acclaim, achieving an impressive 94% critic rating and earning a nomination for the coveted John Cassavetes Award at the upcoming Independent Spirit Awards, hosted by Baltimore’s own Ego Nwodim.
The film, written by Strassner and director Jay Duplass, explores a May-December romance set against the backdrop of iconic Baltimore landmarks during the holiday season. It is still showing at The Senator Theatre, providing audiences with a chance to experience the film’s unique charm.
As news of Strassner’s new role spreads, fans and film enthusiasts are eager to see how this promising project unfolds. Stay tuned for updates on the release date and further developments as “Tuesday, New York” transitions from production to the big screen.
