Moira T. Lewis, 77, Passes Away; Memorial Service Scheduled
BREAKING: Moira T. Lewis, a respected educator and beloved community member, has passed away at the age of 77. The news of her death on October 18, 2025, has deeply saddened family and friends across the Seabrook and Lowell communities.
Born on April 27, 1948, in Lowell, MA, Moira was a proud alumna of Keith Hall High School and later earned a B.S. in Education from Salem Teachers College. She dedicated her life to teaching, starting her career at Lowell High School and serving until 1984. She then transitioned to a civilian role with the U.S. Air Force at Hanscom Air Force Base, contributing to research and laboratory development until her retirement in 2012 at the GS-9 level.
Moira is remembered not only for her professional achievements but also for her quick wit and deep love for animals. Her joy for Halloween and all things spooky made her a cherished figure among her loved ones.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, M. Douglas Lewis, along with her brother, William J. McCarthy, Jr., and his wife, Phyllis, of Merrimack, NH, and other family members including her niece and nephew.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, located at 289 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH. Family and friends are encouraged to attend and celebrate Moira’s life.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the New Hampshire Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, ensuring Moira’s passion for animals continues to impact lives.
