New Kia Seltos Unveiled: Bigger, Smarter, and Affordable

UPDATE: The new Kia Seltos has been officially unveiled in South Korea, and it’s set to make waves in the subcompact SUV market by 2026. This latest model promises to deliver an array of features, including a groundbreaking ChatGPT-powered virtual assistant, while retaining its affordability with a starting price of $23,690.

The revamped Seltos aims to capture the magic of Kia’s popular Telluride and EV9 SUVs. With significant increases in size—growing by 1.8 inches in length and a 2.4-inch longer wheelbase—the new Seltos offers enhanced passenger and cargo space. This model is expected to play a crucial role in Kia’s strategy to boost vehicle sales in India and will be the first Seltos available in the European market.

Kia plans to sell an impressive 430,000 units annually of the new Seltos, which will be built on the company’s new K3 platform across facilities in India, South Korea, and China. While U.S. sales are projected to begin in 2026, this new offering will likely be marketed as a 2027 model in North America.

In terms of innovation, the Seltos will feature a hybrid version for the first time, slated for release later in 2026, along with a diverse engine lineup producing 149, 180, and 193 horsepower. Although specifics on engine options for the U.S. market are yet to be confirmed, the hybrid variant is a sure bet.

The updated Seltos will include two new trim levels—GT-Line and X-Line—to meet rising consumer demand for connectivity, comfort, and safety features. The vehicle will be available with front- or all-wheel drive options, enhancing its versatility for various driving conditions.

Key Features Include:

  • ChatGPT-powered AI virtual assistant
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • Range of tire sizes from 16 to 19 inches
  • 12-inch head-up display
  • Two 12.3-inch screens for controls
  • Enhanced acoustic insulation for a quieter ride

The exterior reflects Kia’s fresh design ethos with a broad grille and stylish running lights similar to those found on the Telluride. Interior upgrades promise a modern feel with a functional layout, including a blend of physical controls and touchscreen interfaces.

As Kia continues to evolve, the new Seltos stands as a testament to the automaker’s commitment to delivering premium features at an accessible price point. With demand for small SUVs on the rise, this model is positioned to not only attract existing Kia fans but also draw in new customers seeking value without compromising on technology and comfort.
