OnePlus 15 Unveiled: Bold Design, Massive 7,300mAh Battery
UPDATE: OnePlus has just launched its highly anticipated flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 15, during an event in China. This launch marks a significant step for the company, and a global rollout is expected to follow next month.
The OnePlus 15 features a striking new design that is more angular than its predecessors. It boasts a flat display and backplate, complemented by a flat frame, and includes a square camera island positioned in the top-left corner of the device. This new aesthetic is a bold move for OnePlus, moving away from the rounded designs of past models.
Under the hood, the OnePlus 15 is powered by the cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, Qualcomm’s most powerful chip to date. Users can choose between 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage, although there is no option for storage expansion.
The device features a stunning 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2772 x 1272. The refresh rate can reach 165Hz during gaming, while regular use adapts between 1Hz and 120Hz, ensuring an optimal user experience.
One of the standout features of the OnePlus 15 is its massive 7,300mAh silicon-carbon battery, which dwarfs the previous model’s battery capacity. It supports 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, promising quick power-ups throughout the day.
The smartphone also includes the latest connectivity options, featuring Bluetooth 6.0, Wi-Fi 7, and is certified for IP68/IP69/IP69K water and dust resistance.
Camera specifications reveal three 50-megapixel sensors: a main camera, an ultrawide lens, and a periscope telephoto unit with 3.5x optical zoom. While the camera specs may appear to be a downgrade compared to the OnePlus 13, the real-world performance remains to be seen.
The OnePlus 15 measures 161.42 x 76.67 x 8.10-8.20mm and weighs between 211g and 215g. It is available in three color options: Absolute Black, Mist Purple, and Sand Dune, which may be renamed in other markets.
Pricing for the OnePlus 15 starts at CNY 3,999 (approximately $561) for the 12GB RAM model with 256GB of storage, while the 16GB RAM variant with 1TB of storage is priced at CNY 5,399 (around $758).
With its powerful specifications and innovative design, the OnePlus 15 is poised to make waves in the smartphone market. Stay tuned for the global launch next month, where more features and specifications will likely be revealed.
The demand for this device is expected to be high, especially among tech enthusiasts eager for the latest advancements in mobile technology.
