Suspect Arrested After Fatal Stabbing of Moreno Valley Man

UPDATE: A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of 35-year-old Jullian Hughes from Moreno Valley. The incident occurred at approximately 12:20 PM on December 9, 2023, in the 3700 block of University Avenue, Riverside, CA.

According to the Riverside Police Department, Hughes suffered from multiple stab wounds and was transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The suspect, identified as John Larry Perryman, initially fled the scene but was located shortly thereafter near 14th Street and Segewick Avenue.

Perryman has been booked on suspicion of murder and is expected to appear in court next week. Riverside Police Chief Larry Gonzalez condemned the violence, stating,

“This was a senseless act of violence, and our thoughts are with Mr. Hughes’ family.”
