UPDATE: A Tennessee man is now facing serious charges following a deadly DUI crash in Montgomery. The incident occurred on October 25, 2023, around 8:07 p.m. at the intersection of East Fairview Avenue and Norman Bridge Road.
Cameron Wilhite, 28, from Memphis, has been charged with reckless murder after his vehicle collided with two others, resulting in the tragic death of 54-year-old Frederick Bernard Hill. Hill was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to a local hospital.
According to charging documents, Wilhite was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee when he first struck a Ford Escape before colliding with Hill’s Ford Explorer. A blood alcohol content (BAC) test conducted approximately 90 minutes post-accident revealed a BAC of 0.15, nearly double the legal limit.
Officers reported finding open containers in Wilhite’s Jeep, noting he was in an “obviously impaired state” at the time of the crash. He was subsequently booked into the Montgomery County Detention Facility and is currently held without bond.
