UPDATE: A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred on December 12, 2023, in West Fort Worth, leaving one person dead. Kareem Hardin was taken into custody by the Fort Worth Police Department’s Intel and Directed Response Units on Tuesday, as authorities continue to investigate this tragic incident.
As of Wednesday morning, Hardin remains in the Tarrant County jail with no bail set and is facing a charge of capital murder by terroristic threat. It is currently unclear if he has obtained legal representation.
The shooting unfolded at approximately 4:40 a.m. on December 12 at an apartment complex located in the 6400 block of Wildwood Circle. According to the Fort Worth police statement, the victim, Lawrence Homan, 24, had driven a female acquaintance to the complex. After she exited the vehicle, Homan was preparing to drive away when he was confronted by Hardin and another unidentified suspect.
During this confrontation, one of the suspects brandished a firearm and opened fire, striking Homan. The assailants then fled the scene, leaving Homan critically injured. He was transported to a local hospital for urgent medical treatment but tragically succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
