Urgent: Man Arrested for Shooting in Hartford Road Rage Incident
UPDATE: A man has been arrested following a dramatic road rage incident in Hartford last night, where gunfire erupted just before 8:40 p.m.. Police responded to reports of shots fired near Park and Washington Streets, discovering that the victim’s vehicle had sustained gunfire damage.
According to Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police Department, the driver called for help after being shot at during the altercation. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, but the incident has left the community shaken.
Authorities quickly shared a description of the suspect’s vehicle, leading to its identification by members of the Hartford Police Violent Crimes Unit and the Greater Hartford Regional Auto Theft Task Force. The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Lorenzo Dunn of Hartford, was apprehended shortly thereafter.
Inside Dunn’s vehicle, police allegedly discovered a firearm and narcotics. Further investigation revealed that Dunn was already wanted on an outstanding warrant related to a prior gun-related assault earlier this year, adding to the seriousness of his arrest.
Dunn now faces multiple charges, including criminal attempt to commit first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, illegal discharge of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, weapons in a motor vehicle, and possession of narcotics with intent to sell.
As this story develops, authorities urge anyone with additional information about the incident to come forward. This unsettling event raises concerns about road safety and the increasing prevalence of gun violence in urban areas.
