BREAKING NEWS: William J. Clark, a beloved community leader and successful businessman, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025, at the age of 78. The news comes as a profound loss to family, friends, and the construction industry in New England.
Born on January 18, 1947, in Lowell, MA, Clark was not only an accomplished entrepreneur but also a devoted husband to Deborah J. Meisner, with whom he shared a remarkable bond for over 58 years. Their love story began with their marriage on October 4, 1969, and continued to inspire those around them.
Clark’s remarkable career began with the founding of Clark Bros. Masonry in 1969 alongside his brother. This venture eventually evolved into one of New England’s largest masonry firms. His dedication to the industry was recognized when he received the New Hampshire Construction Industry Ethics Award in 1997. He later established several successful companies, including Merganser Corporation and Turnstone Corporation, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to quality and integrity in construction.
Beyond business, Clark was a passionate community servant. He served on the Board of Directors for the Association of General Contractors and was a longtime member of the Rotary Club, where he participated in various fundraising initiatives. His commitment to giving back was evident through his involvement in local projects, including affordable housing developments during the 1980s.
In addition to his professional achievements, Clark was an avid golfer and winter sports enthusiast. He was a member of multiple country clubs and enjoyed activities such as snowmobiling and ice fishing. His energy and zest for life were contagious, as he created cherished memories with family and friends at their lakeside home in New Hampshire and their residence in Venice, FL.
Clark’s passing leaves a significant void in the lives of many. He is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah, and their three daughters, including Mimi Rainford and her family, and Stacy J. Clark and Stephanie J. Clark, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Laura Krantz Tollman.
Visitation will be held at Mayhew Funeral Home in Meredith, NH, on December 11, 2025, from 1 PM to 3 PM and 5 PM to 8 PM. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for December 12, 2025, at 11 AM at St. Charles Church in Meredith. A private ceremony at the NH Veterans Cemetery will follow at a later date.
