Wyandotte Woman Wins $100K Lottery Using AI ChatGPT for Numbers
UPDATE: A Wyandotte woman has won $100,000 in the Michigan Lottery, crediting her victory to the artificial intelligence program ChatGPT. Tammy Carvey, 45, matched four white balls and the Powerball in the September 6, 2023 drawing, all thanks to AI-generated numbers.
The win comes as the Powerball jackpot soared past the $1 billion mark, prompting Carvey to purchase her ticket online at MichiganLottery.com. Initially believing she had won $50,000, Carvey’s excitement skyrocketed when she logged into her Michigan Lottery account and discovered the true extent of her winnings.
“I only play Powerball when the jackpot gets up there and the jackpot was over $1 billion so I bought a ticket,” Carvey explained to Michigan Lottery Connect. By opting for the Power Play feature, which costs an additional $1, her prize was doubled, significantly enhancing her financial windfall.
Carvey recounted her moment of realization, stating, “When I checked the winning numbers, I saw I matched four white balls and the Powerball and knew I had to have won something.” Her story is drawing attention not just for the amount won, but for the unorthodox method of choosing numbers through AI.
While Carvey’s win might sound like something out of a science fiction story, it underscores a fascinating intersection of technology and luck. However, the Michigan Lottery maintains that all drawing outcomes are purely random, emphasizing that no predictive tool, including AI, can guarantee a win.
Carvey’s plans for her newfound wealth include paying off her home and saving the remainder. Powerball tickets are priced at $2 and sold across 45 states, making it a popular choice among lottery players.
As lottery enthusiasts and AI fans alike take note of this unique story, it raises questions about the future of technology’s role in games of chance. The combination of human intuition and artificial intelligence may remain a topic of discussion, but for Tammy Carvey, the outcome is undeniably real.
