A devastating fire at a popular nightclub in Goa, India, has resulted in at least 25 fatalities, including both local kitchen staff and several tourists. The tragedy unfolded shortly after midnight on December 3, 2023, in Arpora, a well-known party destination in North Goa. Most of the deceased were identified as workers from the club’s kitchen, with three to four victims being tourists. Six other individuals sustained injuries but are currently reported to be in stable condition. The fire was extinguished by local fire brigades, who faced significant challenges due to the nightclub’s narrow entry and exit points, forcing them to park their vehicles about 400 meters away from the scene.
The situation was further complicated as many people attempted to escape to the kitchen below the dance floor, becoming trapped in the process. Local media, including the Press Trust of India, reported that all bodies have been recovered following the fire.
