Motorists traveling through Bucks County, Pennsylvania, should be prepared for significant lane closures next week on U.S. 1 and Rockhill Drive. As part of a major reconstruction and widening project valued at $116 million, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will implement both overnight and daytime closures.

From October 19 through October 24, nightly lane closures will occur on U.S. 1 in both directions between Fairhill Avenue and the Route 132 (Street Road) Interchange. These closures will take place from 20:00 to 06:00. Motorists should anticipate delays during these hours as work progresses on the three-mile stretch of highway.

In addition, daytime lane closures will affect eastbound traffic on Rockhill Drive. From October 20 to October 24, one lane will be closed from 09:00 to 15:00 between Horizon Boulevard and Neshaminy Boulevard. Drivers are advised to allow for extra travel time due to expected backups.

PennDOT has emphasized that all construction work is weather-dependent, which may affect the schedule. For live updates on road conditions and closures, motorists can visit the MyChesCo Traffic Center.

This project is part of ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure in the region, aiming to enhance safety and traffic flow for the growing number of drivers in Bucks County.
