San Diego County Enjoys Warm Weather, Rain Possible for Christmas

San Diego County is set to experience dry and warmer-than-normal conditions leading up to the weekend, according to the National Weather Service. High pressure is currently keeping the area clear, with temperatures on Tuesday expected to reach a high of 71°F along the coast, and between 72°F and 76°F inland. The western valleys could see temperatures between 74°F and 78°F, while foothills may reach 77°F to 82°F. In the mountains, highs will range from 70°F to 78°F, and desert areas will warm up to 81°F to 84°F.

As the week progresses, night and morning low clouds, along with fog, are anticipated along the coast. These weather patterns may extend further inland by the end of the week, particularly from Friday through Sunday. The return of onshore flow on Friday will initiate a gradual cooldown, although temperatures are expected to remain above average.

Forecasts suggest a potential rise in temperatures early next week before a possible storm system approaches the West Coast. This storm could bring a chance of rain to the region around Christmas. The National Weather Service has noted that this fluctuation in weather is typical for the season, with varying conditions expected.

In addition to the changing weather, local authorities are preparing for holiday traffic enforcement, including DUI checkpoints planned for Friday and Saturday. Homeowners in the area are also facing challenges as housing prices continue to fall, leading to increased cases of negative equity.

As San Diego County enjoys its current sunny skies, residents are left wondering what Santa might bring in terms of weather this Christmas.
