Ransom Solutions Transforms Lives: 290 Graduates Find Jobs Now

UPDATE: Ransom Solutions has made headlines as it announces that over 290 individuals have graduated from its transformative program in the last three years, with an impressive 85% securing housing and full-time employment. This urgent update highlights the non-profit’s commitment to helping the homeless and those battling addiction rebuild their lives.

Founded in 2010 as a donation-only café, Ransom Solutions has evolved into a comprehensive support program. CEO Matt Armbruster reveals that the initiative has expanded significantly, now assisting 30 participants compared to just four in its early days. The program’s recycling efforts have surged, with plans to process over 1 million pounds of electronics this year, up from 160,000 pounds previously.

One success story is Ralph Littlejohn, who graduated the program four years ago and now serves as the Director of Development. “It allowed me to build a foundation of what I’ve turned my life into now,” Littlejohn shared, highlighting his remarkable journey from homelessness to owning two rental properties.

The program spans 12 months and focuses on essential life skills, including self-healing, conflict resolution, and job readiness. Armbruster emphasizes the importance of teaching participants how to maintain employment rather than simply finding jobs. “If you don’t know how to resolve conflict or have a good work ethic, you won’t keep that job,” he stated.

Case work is another crucial component, assisting participants with obtaining social security cards and addressing medical needs. Following a tragic incident last year where a participant relapsed and lost their life, the program has incorporated therapy sessions, providing both group and individual therapy weekly.

In addition to these efforts, Ransom Solutions runs a road work program in collaboration with the city, paying homeless participants to clean up litter and assisting them in achieving OSHA certification.

Armbruster believes the model can be replicated nationwide, stating, “I believe we can exponentially grow. This thing could be duplicated all over the country.” The organization is actively seeking support through donations of recyclables, sponsorship for trainee lunches, and monetary contributions.

This is a developing story, and Ransom Solutions invites everyone to join their mission to create lasting change. For more information or to apply for the program, visit their official website.
