Urban Dominates San Rafael 72-46; Shapiro Shines with 24 Points

BREAKING: Urban delivered a stunning performance against San Rafael, clinching a decisive 72-46 victory on Monday night, fueled by an impressive shooting spree that saw them net 13 three-pointers. Luke Shapiro led the Bulldogs with 24 points and seven rebounds, showcasing his skills even in defeat.

In girls’ basketball, Branson fought hard but ultimately fell to Carlmont with a 46-40 overtime loss. Despite the defeat, the Bulls had standout performances from Kate Spaulding and Juliette Caldwell-Little, both achieving double-doubles. Spaulding recorded 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Caldwell-Little contributed 12 points and 10 rebounds. Ava Gordon added six points, but a missed buzzer-beater shot sealed their fate.

Tam High’s girls’ team also faced a setback, losing to Rancho Cotate with a score of 43-21. The Red-tailed Hawks, now at 3-6, are set to join the West Coast Jamboree on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Archie Williams concluded the holiday break with two impressive wins. The Peregrine Falcons edged past Vintage with a 38-33 victory, thanks to Reese Patton’s clutch free throws in the closing seconds. Patton, who led all scorers with 22 points, along with Lila Peterson’s seven points, helped improve the Falcons’ record to 4-3.

In an exciting development for men’s basketball, an Archie Williams High graduate contributed 10 points and seven rebounds for Seattle University during their 71-68 win against Texas-San Antonio on Monday. The Redhawks, now boasting an 11-2 record, are preparing to host the USF Dons this coming Sunday.
