South Florida Girls Bowling Teams Shine with Honors and Achievements

The Broward County girls bowling scene celebrated significant achievements with the announcement of the All-County selections, recognizing outstanding performances from various high schools. The awards were presented on November 18, 2025, in Deerfield Beach, highlighting the talents of local bowlers and their coaches.

Top Performers Recognized

Among the notable honorees, Cristina Dixon of South Plantation High stood out by securing second place at the district tournament with a series score of 559. She later competed at the state tournament, finishing tied for 21st with a total of 764 pins. Her teammate, Reese Metevia, also from South Plantation, demonstrated remarkable skill by placing fifth at the district competition and achieving a high game of 202, ultimately finishing 45th at the state championship with a total of 692.

Another South Plantation senior, Madison Quara, ranked seventh in the district tournament and tied for 47th at the state level, amassing a total of 689 pins, including a high game of 201. From Coral Springs Charter School, Cameron Thiele, a junior, helped her team secure the district championship, placing third individually and finishing tied for 51st at the state championship with a series of 685. Sophomore Faith Tucker of Coral Springs Charter was crowned the individual district champion with a series score of 534 and finished 32nd at the state championship, contributing to her team’s success in winning both the BCAA championship and the district title.

Additional Honors and Coaching Excellence

The selections extended to a second team and honorable mentions, showcasing talent from various schools. The second team included Jazz Chung (Coral Springs Charter), Evelynn Clay (Archbishop McCarthy), and several others. Honorable mentions featured talented bowlers from Coral Glades, Cypress Bay, and Stoneman Douglas, among others.

The coaching accolades went to Jennifer Collins of South Plantation High and Greg Mason of Coral Springs Charter. Collins led her team to a district championship and secured fifth place at the state team qualifier, advancing to the third round of the baker tournament. She expressed pride in her team’s development, noting, “Watching them mature into strong, responsible young women has been one of the greatest joys of my coaching career.”

Mason, overseeing the Coral Springs Charter girls, guided his team to a first-place finish at the BCAA championship, a district title, and ninth place in the state team qualifier. He emphasized the hard work and dedication displayed by his players, stating, “I am proud of how hard the girls worked to accomplish their way to states.”

These awards and recognitions reflect the growing talent and competitive spirit within the Broward County girls bowling community, setting a promising foundation for future seasons.
